Car Salvage & Auction:
Unless instructed by a Solicitor or an FCA approved Finance or Insurance company (act as a subcontractor), proof of ownership is required (you must be the direct owner of a vehicle) prior to any works being undertaken.
Family members either direct or in-direct can not instruct us. The owner or staff member of a car park/private land can not instruct us.
In order to instruct us privately - the following checks must be completed:
- Police National Data base - to check if it has been stolen.
- Check if there is any outstanding Finance.
- Check and obtain verified vehicle information.
- To issue a tort notice.
- Obtain permission for removal.
When you make an enquiry - we can provide the correct steps for the legal process of removing a vehicle.
We always try to seek either the vehicle owner or Finance company related when the vehicle comes to our Secure compound.
- The offer to you or your company: a 50% reward (less the £750 fuel/collection/auction fee) when we take it to our local car auction company for re-sale.
If the vehicle is only worth scrap value there will be no reward due to our costs of collection.
If we locate the owner within the 30-day window we can only charge them the recovery and compound fees. As such, the reward for an auction re-sale can not be offered.
If the owner has received an Insurance payout and unable to take the vehicle back legally - we will continue with the auction sale, therefore provide you the 50% reward as above.
Please note:
When a tort notice is served we must wait 30 days prior to collection once served on the said vehicle.
- We can guide you to complete this notice serving correctly.
There is vehicle check you must pay for separately as part of the application process to be submitted to us. These vary from £9.50-£29.50, but provide the legal information needed to safeguard yourself and us.
- If the vehicle does come back stolen -we are able to collect it immediately.
Vehicle Removal & Storage:
This is for clients who have abnormal car recovery requests. Usually these vehicles have been stood for many years. Old classic cars stuck in hedge-backs at the bottom of overgrown garden's are a specialty.
- Tasked to remove cars from driveways or garages where in some situations the keys and even documentation can't be found.
- Removing cars from private land can be problematic due to the difficult to reach places, only accessible by 4x4.
These jobs require specialist tools, vehicles, and a certain level of care to safely remove, obtained only by years of experience whereby a normal transport car collection could not fulfil.
Re-sale Preparation Available:
Rather than sending a car straight to auction these are instead collected and assessed. The timeframe in some situations; that of family members (bereavement storage) there is needed time to decide a better plan of action. With this in mind, we will always see if the value of the said vehicle that comes into our temporary outdoor unit can be increased.
E.g a recent vehicle was collected. We were instructed to auction asap. When completing the assessment a valuable numberplate was registered. We notified the Solicitor acting on behalf of their client and the instruction received to remove it prior to it going to auction. The plate was valued at around £4000.00.
In fairness the car also had a recall which we offered to manage with BMW directly on the basis of a potentially auction increase but the family just advised to take it straight to auction in this instance.
**We do our best to increase the vehicle value prior to auction**
Vehicles can cause additional stress to family members when deciding what to do with them when a property requires urgent clearing-out.
1) Allowing a property to be cleared out, renovated or sold.
2) They can be collected, assessed, provided with TLC to increase value, then sold.
3) They can be kept in safe indoors, prepared for the road and driven on a weekend if the family decides to keep the classic car.
Business Premises Vehicle Removal:
Similar to car salvage above we will work with you to ensure the vehicle can firstly be removed legally.
Once the due diligence checks are complete and we've received the application, our team will come to the premises at a time convenient.
